A super simple pattern for crochet produce bags, perfect for using up scraps of cotton yarn.
This pattern is written in UK terms.
Materials
- Approx 30g of DK Cotton Yarn
- 3.5mm crochet hook
- needle for sewing in ends
Abbreviations
Ch - Chain
St - Stitch
Sl st - Slip Stitch
Sk - skip
Dc - Double Crochet
Htr - Half Treble
Method
1) Ch38
2) Htr into the 4th chain from hook (ch3 counts as first st), htr into each st until 1 remains, 4htr in last st. Without turning, htr in each st along the opposite side of initial ch, 2htr into base of beginning ch3, join to top of first st with a sl st (78)
3) *Ch8, sk5 sts, sl st into next st*, repeat from * to * 12 more times, ommiting the final sl st and joining the ch8 to the based of the beginning ch8.
4) Sl st across the next 4 sts, *ch8, sl st into the 4th st of the ch8 from previous row*, repeat from * to * to the end of the row, joining the final ch8 to the base of the first ch8.
Repeat Row 4 until bag reaches desired length.
I repeated the row 3 more times, for larger bags I would suggest 3-6 more times.
5) Ch1, 6dc into each of the ch8 spaces, join to the beginning dc with a sl st.
Cut yarn and weave in ends.
You've now completed your produce bag. I hope you enjoyed this project.
